Fourteen (14) hearty locals stepped up to the plate to test their boat building skills on the inner harbor, captaining boats made entirely of cardboard and duct tape. These vessels launched off the new boat ramp and paddled approximately ~80 feet, out and around a buoy, most without sinking. The boats were creative, many taking on a political theme, but the Pac Man boat won for best design and Makayla del Rosario's football shaped stand up paddle board was a huge fan favorite!
Admittedly the weather was too much for some of the boat builders. One weather-weary builder brought his boat to the race but feared the cold was too much for him to handle. Luckily, Camron Hubbard and Danny Woods jumped at the opportunity to participate and almost won the race, coming in a very close third place!
Whether they sank or float, it was an amazing afternoon filled with much laughter and fun with neighbors and friends.
